Hi, There! I’m Shea.
When our first daughter was born, let’s just say I was not prepared for breastfeeding! I left the hospital with cracked and bleeding nipples and what felt like shards of glass coming through my nipples with each feed.
As a Pediatric ICU nurse, I thought breastfeeding would come naturally. When it didn’t, I called our doula who got us in touch with an amazing lactation consultant.
Once we got help and support from our IBCLC and got through our challenges, I became super passionate about learning more about breastfeeding and breastfeeding support.
When our second daughter was born, I called our IBCLC before she was born, to have support ready! Luckily, her latch was better and our breastfeeding journey got off to a better start!
Because of the support from our lactation consultant, I was able to breastfeed my first daughter until she 2 years old and my second daughter until she was 2.5 years old.
Over the last 5 years, I’ve just dreamed of becoming an IBCLC. In 2021, things fell into place and I have completed my CLC (certified lactation counselor) certification and now I am a student IBCLC, working towards my IBCLC certification (international board certified lactation consultant).
It is my passion and mission to provide breastfeeding support to empower new moms to bond with their baby through breastfeeding! I’m so glad you’re here 💜
I’ve been married to Danny for 14 years, we have 2 spirited daughters, 2 dogs and love lake life.
I am a registered nurse and used to work in the PICU but became a stay at home mom a few years ago about 9 months after our first daughter was born.
I live for coffee, that first sip in the morning before my kids wake up gives me life, I love wine and I say bad words 🤷🏻♀️
After that first sip of coffee, you’ll find me journaling for some early morning quiet time!
I’ve learned to not take shit so seriously and to stay true to myself and follow my dreams!
